FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most about the C.A.T.S Vest. Can't find yours? Email sales@mediguard.co.nz or call +64 21 021 02161.

When should I order?

Ideally one to two weeks before your surgery date, so the vest is at home and ready. Add your surgery date in the cart and we will prioritise dispatch.

Which depth do I need, 20cm or 26cm?

Both suit most patients. If your surgical team recommends a depth, choose that one. Not sure? Watch our measuring and fitting video, which takes you through it step by step. If you still have questions, contact us and we'll help you choose.

Do I need riser pads?

Riser pads are optional. They're recommended for men, or those with minimal breast tissue. They sit either side of the wound to lift the vest away from the incision and dressing.

Can I wear it in bed?

Yes. The vest is designed for day and night wear during your recovery.

How long should I wear the vest?

Most people wear it day and night for 6–8 weeks after surgery, taking it off to shower. Follow your surgical team's advice, as they may suggest a different length of time for you.

Can I wear the vest over clothing?

The vest can be worn over a bra or a thin top or T-shirt. If it's worn over anything too bulky, it can affect the sizing and how comfortable it is.

How do I wash it?

Machine wash at 40–60°C at home with the Velcro fastenings closed. It can be air dried or tumble dried.

I'm buying for a hospital or as a healthcare professional. Can I order here?
